Sennebogen 305MH Multihandler for Scotbark
08 May 2006
Scotbark have recently purchased a new Sennebogen
305MH Multihandler from E.H.Hassell of Stoke-on-Trent for
handling duties at their new purpose-built depot, centrally
located in the east-end of Glasgow close to the M8 Motorway.
Scotbark have their own processing plant which is located in the
Scottish Highland capital, Inverness, an ideal catchment site
for the produce of Scotland's forests.
There are numerous sawmills in the area including the largest
single user of pine logs in the country, C.S.C Forest Products,
which produces the oriented strand board (O.S.B.) called
'Sterling Board'.
Drawing its raw material from these sources, Scotbark products
are composed primarily of Scots pine bark (in excess of 80%).
This is reflected in the higher quality which can be achieved as
opposed to that derived from other species. The Scotbark product
range falls into three distinct categories: Playbark, Ornamental
Bark Mulch and General Purpose Bark Mulch.
The Sennebogen 305MH will be employed at their landscape supply
center which supplies the landscaping and garden industries and
distributes to wholesale outlets and market gardens throughout
the UK.
Handling the loading of wood bark into high sided articulated
vehicles Scotbark required a versatile and robust machine that
would do the job efficiently and safely.
Weighing in at 11 tonnes the Sennebogen 305MH is of strong build
quality and offers increased durability and component life
expectancy. Operating on foam filled tyres the 305MH has a two
section telescopic boom which comes as standard equipment and is
hydraulically extendable from 4.1 to 6.6 metres.
Featuring a hydraulic quick change device operated from the
drivers cabin a 2.5 cu.metre rehandling bucket complete with
hydraulic clamping rail enables maximum filling of bucket
providing Scotbark with a high volume per bucket load.
The 305MH also features a hydraulically elevated cabin and 3
position steering which provide the Scotbark operator with
improved vision and exceptional maneuverability and excellent
all round vision when loading high sided vehicles or containers.
Michael Boyle - Depot Manager,
commented “We were in the market for two machines, one wheeled
loader to load our walking floors, and a second telehandler for
our day to day operations loading small customer vehicles and
rehandling in our yard. The 305 has proven to be capable of both
these tasks; the innovative raising cab makes easy work of
loading the largest and smallest vehicles.”
