In 1974 in a small workshop on the outskirts of Stoke on Trent Ernest Haig Hassell and his sons established the Hassell company.
Starting with only a few employees the company supplied Mechanical Engineering Services principally to the Quarrying Industry. With this small beginning and many years of experience the company soon needed additional workshop capacity. With an interim move to rented workshops north of the city, a prime site was eventually secured at Trentham in 1985 and it was there that the companies activities have grown , providing products and services to a variety of industries.
In 1998 the Sennebogen distributorship was agreed and Sennebogen cranes were slowly but surely established in the UK and Ireland. This business now being an important area of the companies activities.
Two years ago Hassell began the design and development of a range of heavy duty tracked hopper feeders, this equipment will form a major part of the companies business in its traditional supply to the quarrying industry and other associated industries handling bulk materials.
